We are so honored to continue to be a host site for the Red Cross Blood Drive. This is an amazing opportunity to help people we may never meet!! Join us that day, or contact Emmalee (308-539-2727) to sign up OR to help provide a lunch to-go for our donors.

Beat the Heat!

Sundays 7/12 & 7/19

As the days get hotter, we’re moving earlier to beat the heat – our outdoor gatherings on 7/12 and 7/19 will be at 9 a.m.

Remember: as we’re able, an opportunity to love others can be to save the best parking and more desirable spots on the lawn for those who need them more than we do!

2k22 Prayer Gatherings (Online)

Sundays 5/31 - 6/28, 2‑3 p.m.

We’re joining together via Zoom to pray for the 2k22 vision! Beginning on Pentecost (5/31) and continuing each Sunday afternoon through the end of June, drop in anytime between 2-3 p.m. to pray with us.

Prayer ideas and more info below. (“Join by video” button goes live each Sunday.)

The Church worldwide observes Pentecost 7 Sundays after Easter:

“It is also called the Feast of Weeks (Exodus 34:22), with this name coming from the seven weeks plus one day (50 days in all) that are counted to determine when to celebrate this festival (Leviticus 23:16). Similarly, in the New Testament, which was written in Greek, this festival is known as Pentecost (Pentekostos in the original), which means ‘fiftieth’ (Acts 2:1-4).” – W.E. Vine, Vine’s Complete Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words, 1985, “Pentecost”

After Christ ascended to heaven as the disciples watched, they waited in Jerusalem as they had been told to do. A few days later was the Day of Pentecost. That is when God chose to send the Comforter/ Holy Spirit to the Christ followers.

That very day, Scripture records, Peter spoke to large crowds that were in Jerusalem to celebrate the Feast. “So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls” (Acts 2:41 ESV).

As we observe this Day of Pentecost, we are reminded of what God’s Holy Spirit can do, and we pray with renewed urgency toward our 2k22 vision for Lincoln County:

We believe that by 2022, through God’s grace and power, we will see 2,000 people baptized and growing in relationship with Jesus through the Word, prayer, and community.

How can you play a part? Pray for those who don’t yet know Jesus, and share your life with them so they can experience good news through your words and actions. See suggestions below:

Easter Prayer Follow-Up

Thanks for praying!

We’re so grateful for this opportunity we’ve had to join together in prayer – we hope you’ll stick with it! Perhaps what started as an Easter Prayer Initiative could be an invitation to a whole new step forward in our prayer lives.

Below are a few resources we’ve put together to support you in continuing to pray for family, friends, church, coworkers, community, and beyond. Let’s keep growing together in our relationships with Jesus Christ, as He invites each of us into a deeper connection to Him – and dependence on Him – through prayer.

Keep praying re: COVID-19

Here are some resources offering ways to continue praying during the pandemic:

  • The makers of the PrayerMate app shared a #PraytoEndCOVID19 Prayer Guide from SIM (English PDF here, other languages here) – if you use PrayerMate, you can add these requests from within the app by tapping Add > Self-Isolation Survival Pack > SIM Pray to End Covid-19 (detailed directions in PrayerMate section below).

  • Several other Christian groups have put together resources for a day of prayer and fasting, such as The Gospel Coalition and City to City (both include downloadable prayer guides).

Prayer apps

There are plenty of great apps that can help us be faithful in prayer. Here are two of our favorites.

Echo Prayer

Good when your prayer list doesn’t get too long.

PrayerMate

Good when you have lots of prayers to organize.

Want to add SIM’s #PraytoEndCOVID19 Prayer Guide?

  • Download and launch the PrayerMate app.

  • From the app’s home screen, tap Add.

  • Under Suggested Resources, tap Self-Isolation Survival Pack, then SIM Pray to End Covid-19.

  • In the top right corner, tap Download.

  • Tap Suggested: ‘Special events’, then New subject, and you’re done!

Please be sure to stay in your cars and to keep 6 ft. distance between you and others – we want to honor not only those in authority over us but also the health of others.

Can't be there at that time? Feel free to pray at the time and place the Lord allows you to! Not sure how to pray? Visit npberean.org/pray for prompts to help you get started.

Easter Prayer Week 7

Apr. 8-12

Easter is almost here! In this final week of our Easter Prayer Initiative, we’re praying that, like Mary in Luke 10:38-42, we’ll prioritize What Matters Most – a growing relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

Ask the Lord to:

  • Use these times of difficulty and uncertainty to help people (including us!) recognize our limitations and our need for Him

  • Move powerfully in our hearts and the hearts of many people all over North Platte, Lincoln County, and beyond – to draw us into (or deeper into) relationship with Him

  • Awaken in us, through the Easter story, a new appreciation for His extraordinary generosity and the hope that is found in Him

  • Help us focus less on ourselves and more on Him, living as His ambassadors and loving others in His name (2 Corinthians 5:17-21)

We long to be growing in our own relationships with Jesus Christ and to be leading many others to know and grow in Him, too. No matter what these unpredictable times may bring, we know that What Matters Most will never change – because Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8)…He’s the hope our world truly needs!

Update re: Good Friday Gathering
Good Friday NP Promo Screen.jpg

Fri. 4/10

The gathering originally planned for this Friday will not be taking place due to the current health restrictions. We still encourage you to take the day to remember Jesus’ death, prepare your heart for Easter, and pray for unity among the churches in our area and for many people to come to know Jesus this Easter!
