There are great prices on school supplies right now, and two ways you can take advantage of these savings to bless others:• Help bless the staff and kids at Lincoln school by providing supplies that teachers end up purchasing with their own money for kids who can’t bring their own from home. A list of needed supplies is next to the display in the foyer; please bring your items to the church by August 25. • Buy supplies that would fit in the shoeboxes you will be putting together for Operation Christmas Child in October.
- Berean/Camp will provide the main dish, drinks, plates, silverware, cups.
- Congregation is invited to bring a side dish or dessert to share. If it needs to be cooled, bring it in a cooler and leave it in your car until 12:30 when we will put out all the food.
- Lawn chairs (lunch will be served outdoors).
- Swimming suits & towels if you plan to enjoy the waterfront.

God has opened the door for our church to impact our community in many ways at Lincoln School – as mentors, volunteers in the Better than Recess programs, readers in the classroom, helpers with family friendly activities and prayer warriors praying for mentors and the kids. All these activities have the sole purpose of reaching out to our neighbors to share God’s love! If God is tugging on your heart to be involved in some way at Lincoln School and you want to know more about how your gifts can best be used, just fill out a Connect Card, write in LINCOLN SCHOOL and we’ll be in touch.
Fri 8/12-Sun 8/14, the Brent & Mary Boerkircher placeOur annual Father–Son Campout is a great chance for dads (and granddads!) and their sons to have fun together, connect with each other, and hang out with other guys in the church family. Can’t come for the whole time? No big deal…come for what you can! All food will be provided. Call Rusty Bardell or Mike Morrell for details.
Did you know volunteers from Berean bring a monthly assembly to Lincoln Elementary called Better than Recess (or BTR)? Not only is it fun for the kids, but the volunteers on the BTR team have also come to love it and feel they are making a real difference in the kids and teachers whose lives they touch each month. Best of all, no special talent is required to be on the team – just a desire to take these powerful messages to the kids in a fun way. If you’d like to find out more about joining our BTR team, on or off the stage, write “Lincoln School” on the OTHER line of your ConnectCard.
