Apr. 1 - April Truths (Mt. 27:62-28:15)
First listen to the sermon (posts Sun. afternoon). Then use the ideas below to help you and your group apply what the Lord is teaching you.

Icebreaker idea: Share a good Easter memory or something you enjoy about spring.

A way to pray: Thank God for the truths of the crucifixion and resurrection (that these are not a hoax!). Pray for those whose lives we long to see transformed by these realities as we seek to see 2,000 people by 2022 baptized and growing in relationship with Jesus.

For discussion:

  • Treasuring God: What is one thing I appreciate as I reflect on the details of how Jesus' resurrection took place?
  • Being Transformed: When in my life have I tried to obscure God's truth? How can I promote truth instead?
  • Loving Others: When have I had a chance to love someone by sharing the good news of Jesus' resurrection with them? What did it look like practically?
  • Pursuing Unity: How does the resurrection encourage Jesus' followers in everyday life? Who needs me to encourage them right now?

Mar. 25 - Remember (Lk. 22:7-20)
First listen to the sermon (posts Sun. afternoon). Then use the ideas below to help you and your group apply what the Lord is teaching you.

Icebreaker idea: What is something that's better when experienced in a group rather than individually/alone?

A way to pray: Take communion together as a group. Spend time thanking God for what He has done for us. Pray by name for those we know who don't yet know Jesus, that God would allow them to join us in this meal one day soon.

For discussion:

  • Treasuring God: How does celebrating communion help to grow our love for God?
  • Being Transformed: How does having the new covenant written on our hearts (see Jeremiah 31:31-34) change the way we follow Jesus?
  • Loving Others: As I remember Jesus' self-sacrificing love, how can I share this with someone in my life through my words and actions this week?
  • Pursuing Unity: What is the significance of Christians celebrating communion as a group rather than just individually?

Mar. 18 - Make Disciples (Mt. 28:19-20; Jn. 4:1-42)
First listen to the sermon (posts Sun. afternoon). Then use the ideas below to help you and your group apply what the Lord is teaching you.

Icebreaker idea: Where in your life do you encounter people who are not yet in a growing relationship with Jesus? Who are a couple such people whom you know personally?

A way to pray: Pray by name for the individuals in each of our lives who could be part of the 2,000 people we're seeking to lead into a growing relationship with Jesus by 2022.

For discussion:

  • Treasuring God: What is something amazing about God that I want to share with others?
  • Being Transformed: When have I experienced Jesus lovingly shining a light on something that He wanted to change in my life?
  • Loving Others: What does it look like practically for us to love others by sharing the good news with them through our words and actions?
  • Pursuing Unity: What are some specific parts each of us can play in making disciples of 2,000 people by 2022?

Mar. 11 - The Greatest Commandment(s) (Lk. 10:25-37)
First listen to the sermon (posts Sun. afternoon). Then use the ideas below to help you and your group apply what the Lord is teaching you.

Icebreaker idea: When have I experienced an intentional act of kindness (or had the chance to do this for someone else)?

A way to pray: Pray for each other to grow in love and wisdom. Ask God to help us know the right timing and ways to share His love with others, to give us the motivation to love Him and others well no matter the cost to ourselves, and to use this outpouring of love to draw people to Himself as we seek to see 2,000 people baptized and growing in relationship with Him by 2022.

For discussion:

  • Treasuring God: What are some specific ways the parable of the Good Samaritan reminds me of God's love for me?
  • Being Transformed: What is the connection between loving God and loving others? What does God want to change about how I love Him/others?
  • Loving Others: When is it hard to love others (to feel loving and/or to show love by our actions)? How does the parable of the Good Samaritan help?
  • Pursuing Unity: Who else in my life is seeking to love God and others? What can I learn from them about how to grow in this?
