Berean desires for each of our missionaries to have a support team, what we call a Home Front Team. In this way we hope to more fully meet the needs of our missionaries and to be active fellow workers with them in the advancement of the gospel.
A home front team is a small group (6 -12) of committed people who come together to care for their missionary in a variety of ways, striving to help meet their physical, emotional and spiritual needs. It is a group of people with whom the missionary can be open and honest, allowing them to see their needs, and share their successes, defeats, and personal struggles.
Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” (Luke 10:2). We are all called to play a part in the process of planting, watering, and reaping the harvest. 1 Corinthians 3:9 says, that “we are the laborers together with God.” As a church what is our overall mission toward this effort? For some it is to go to the ends of the earth. For many others it is to support the global mission efforts from home!
