We believe that by 2022, through God’s grace and power, we will see 2000 people baptized and growing in relationship with Jesus through the Word, prayer, and community. What will that involve? How will we pursue this initiative together? Follow our Creating Spaces page to keep up with our vision and progress as we work to create spaces to reach more faces.

We’d love to have you join us! Our large gatherings are Sundays at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., and 6 p.m., and we’re at 202 W 8th St here in North Platte.
The best place to park is in the lot south of our main building (north of 7th, between Vine and Sycamore) – the main entrance is there on the south side of the building.
Or, if you’re stopping by the office during the week, park in the west lot or on 8th, and come in the office entrance on the north side of the main building, toward the west end.

Who we are

We are a church seeking to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We want to do this because Jesus’ death for us on the cross and his rising from the dead has freed us from being bound up by our own failings, sins, and past mistakes. In gratitude, we’re thrilled to follow him and grow to become more like him!
You might be asking, “What does Berean mean?” That’s a great question. The word is actually in the Bible in the book of Acts, chapter 17. It says that the Bereans were “noble” because they searched the Scriptures to see if what they were being told about Jesus was true. We want to be the same kind of people who search God’s word, the Bible, to know the truth of the good news about Jesus and how to live life as a result.

For a little snippet of our history, you might also be interested to visit the Berean Fellowship of Churches web site and scroll down to the “Our History” section. (This is the fellowship of churches we helped start and are still part of today.)

We want North Platte Berean to be a thriving local church, built up and knit together by Jesus Christ. We don’t believe that this happens by us just attending a church gathering on Sunday morning. That’s why we hope everyone will connect through small groups and service.
Christian community is a great way to get to know Jesus better and grow to be more like Him. We’d love to help you connect in a Grow Group or a shorter-term Explore Grow Group.
Another great way to grow in community is by serving one another. Find out more about how you can use your God-given abilities, interests, and time to connect through serving.
Through our Kids Connect ministry (infant-5th grade), we seek to combine the light of the church with the love of the family, partnering together for lasting spiritual impact on our children.
Our Sola student ministry (6th-12th grade) strives to help young adults grow into fully functioning members of the local church, helping them build a faith that lasts.

FAQ about giving

Why give?

God is generous…

“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich. … The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.”

— Paul in 2 Corinthians 8:9; 9:6-8

Christians reflect Christ…

Out of his infinite riches, Jesus Christ emptied himself out for us, so that we could be adopted into his family and share his inheritance. When God’s children are moved by that truth, they long to reflect God’s generosity to others through their words and actions.

What does giving look like?

Giving treasure…

One of the ways we can be generous is by supporting the financial needs of our local church body, and one of the forms that can take is giving financially to support the church’s budgeted expenses such as staff, missions, utilities, etc. For more opportunities to be generous with your treasure / finances, check out the Organizations we support page.

Giving time and talents…

We can also be generous by sharing the skills, interests, and abilities God has given uniquely to each one of us. This could take the form of serving in the church, as well as serving in the community (see Organizations we support or brainstorm possibilities with your Grow Group). Of course, sharing our talents takes time, and in fact sometimes we can be generous with our time simply by being present for someone who needs us.

How do I give?

Giving treasure…

If you wish to give financially toward our mission of leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, you may do so in person, online, or by mail (202 W 8th St, North Platte, NE 69101). Questions about online giving? See below.

We would also encourage you to consider giving financially to other Organizations we support.

Giving time and talents…

If you would like to know more about ways to be generous with your time and talents, consider serving in the church. You may also consider serving with one of the Organizations we support, and we encourage you to brainstorm more ideas for serving the community with your Grow Group.

How does online giving work?

Our online donation page is secure and convenient. Transactions are secured through Planning Center Giving’s secure processor Stripe, and your donations will show up on the same year-end contribution statement whether you give in person or online. Online donations can be made by bank transfer from your checking or savings account, or by debit/credit card. (Remember, we’re not encouraging credit card debt… please only give money you actually have.) Creating an account through the online donation page will allow you to choose if you want your gift to be one-time or recurring (weekly, biweekly, twice a month, or monthly), to edit or delete your recurring gifts at any time, and to track your donations online.

What if I have more questions?

We would be glad to answer any further questions you may have about giving in general or online giving in particular – simply contact us.
